Kim Yu-Na is Korea’s Skating Princess and really the world’s now. She is setting world records and making everyone in Korea so very proud. She has the look, the talent and there’s no telling how many more world records and gold medals she can amass in her career. She’s the favorite by far going into the Olympics and we hope she brings home the gold for South Korea.
Yu-Na Kim is winning everything she’s in and breaking records and soon it will be not only scoring records, but perhaps endorsement records. Her face is everywhere in Korea from the TV, internet, newspapers and naturally attached to numerous products.
Kim Yu Na stated skating at age 7. It would be easy to say that her loving Korean parents or more specifically mother made her practice everyday and created this skating machine, but I don’t think anyone can rise to the top in anything without having a strong inner desire to be the best and Kim Yu-Na obviously has this.
It’s not like she had a model to pattern herself after as figure skating in Korea is not that big, (although there will be a lot more little girls lacing up the skates in Korea in the years to come), which makes her rise all that more impressive and shows real determination that we can all respect and admire this “Super Korea” as some have dubbed her.
