Lost ARC Card!? In Korea and realize you can’t find or may have lost your Alien Registration Card! Don’t panic, you aren’t going to get deported or have your visa canceled. However, you will have to visit the nearest immigration office in Korea to apply for a new one though.
You can visit the (Hi Korea) Korean government site for finding your local immigration office.
All you have to do, for example would be to head over to the Seoul immigration office (it’s building A on the map) near Omokgyo station (오목교 역 line 5) (Check here for Seoul Subway information )
Directions to Seoul Immigration Office 서울출입국관리사무소
- Take the line 5 (purple line) to station #521 오목교 역
- Take exit 7. (Photo booth should be right by exit 7 and cost around W8,000 for passport-sized photos)
- After coming out of exit 7, walk straight and you’ll see and SK Oil, keep going and you should see eventually (5 minutes) see another SK Oil (gas station) across the street on your left as the road veers left.
- Keep going around the bend on the same road until you see the immigration ahead of you on the left. It is a grey building with about 5 stories.
Bring a new 3×4 passport photo, 10,000 won for the application fee and fill out the application form and have your passport.
It is important to report your ARC lost or stolen as quickly as you can to immigration. Also, if you are changing your address in Korea then that must also be reflected on your Alien Registration Card. Visit the immigration office with your ARC, passport and fill out this form for a change of address .
If you fail to inform immigration within 14 days of these changes then fines and other unpleasant things may follow and it may impede you renewing, extending or getting a new E2 or other Visa here in Korea.<
