Super Star K (슈퍼스타) is Korea’s answer to American Idol. Same basic winning premise as the hugely successful US version. Take a bunch of talented amateur singers, get famous K-pop entertainment industry folks like Lee Hyo Ri, Lee Seung Chul, Yang Hyun Suk (aka Yang Goon YG Ent.) and let them all do their thing. Not a huge fan of either show, but this song 심장없어 had Hyo Ri teary-eyed and it got me too. You don’t have to understand it to be touched by the emotion of the song as song by these Super Star wannabes.
